Thanks for lessons from the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. That the torch was lit by a team of seven men also reminds me of the need for us to move away from the one man-band model of ministry to the shared ministry according to Ephesians 4: 11. Christ gave to the church the offices of the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher but I observe that focus has always been on the ministry of the pastor to the detriment of the others. I think it’s high time we learn from the ceremony, make for a change so as to benefit from the ministry of the other offices!
